I have a terrible admission. Not only did we visit the grand dame of national parks, plus its majestic sister park, during the busiest vacation week of the summer, but in a show of true U. S. of A. patriotism, we experienced the parks’ most well know features through the windshield of the speeding car. To be fair, we were in a hurry to meet some friends who had kindly invited us to join them for a few days of fly fishing (or in my case, streamside lounging), so we did spend some good quality time as bear bait in Yellowstone National Park (photos coming soon), but I’m afraid when it came to spurting geysers and blurgling steaming mud pots, our experience was limited to just a couple of quick stops.
