Chillin’ like a villain on the Strait of Magellan

In photography, wander

After being on the move for ten days (El Chalten to El Calafate to Puerto Natales to trekking in Torres del Paine) we’ve paused way down south in Punta Arenas for an agenda-less day at the most relaxing hotel ever. It’s amazing how fresh fruit, working plumbing and real coffee are such revelations after a week of mud, waiting in line for the loo and Nescafé. The laundry has been sent out (my apologies to the laundress) so now we have a bit if time to catch up on photo editing and posting. Here are some galleries from the past week (we’ll continue to add images when we have the time):

Monte Fitz Roy : We spent a great drippy misty day hiking up to the base of Monte Fitz Roy. At the final moment the clouds cleared to reveal a dramatic glimpse of the peak.

Laguna Nimez: We stopped for a quick walk around the bird refuge in Calafate before dinner at La Pura Vida. Yum. Wait, not the birds, the food.

Perito Moreno Glacier: Yes, we did the “Mini Trek” and enjoyed every minute of the touristy awesomeness.
