The Maths of Snowshoeing:

Multiply the distance I can normally hike by 2/3 and that’s the distance I can snowshoe on a well-packed track.

Multiply the distance I can snowshoe on a packed track by 1/2 and that’s the distance I can snowshoe when breaking a track through powder.
